The National Health Service was, at one time, the jewel in the crown of our nation and the envy of the developed world. It has now been reduced to a shadow of its former self and is run almost as an ‘International Health Service’ with treatment available to foreign visitors who often leave without paying their bills.
The NHS has been run into the ground by successive governments through chronic mismanagement. Superbugs spread and leave patients in danger of leaving our dirty hospitals in a worse state than they entered. Our sick are often unable to receive the drugs they so badly need but money is spare to pay for drugs needed by people who have brought disease to Britain from abroad.
These priorities are all wrong. We would prioritise treatment for British citizens and put an end to the scandal of ‘Health Tourism’ which costs Britain over £2.5 billion a year alone.
It’s time to put our people to the front of the queue and return the NHS to a ‘National Health Service’.
